Benefit for the People of Ukraine

 

The Foster Grandparent Program is co-sponsoring, with Hobart and William Smith College, a benefit for the people of Ukraine. 

 

On Friday, August 26, 7:00 PM, at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, the Ukrainian movie “The Earth is as Blue as an Orange” will be showcased. 

This 2020 documentary is about a single mother with four children raising her family in the front-line war zone of Donbas. 

 

The movie is free of charge with donations accepted and will be introduced by a member of the Ukrainian Society of Rochester.

Senior Follies Talent Show

Saturday, October 8 at the Smith Opera House

 

The Foster Grandparent Program will once again sponsor a Senior Follies Talent Show on Saturday October 8 at the Smith Opera House in Geneva.

We are looking for talented seniors over age 55 who are musicians, singers, band members, poetry readers, comics, dancers or have any performing skills to share.

The event is not a competition, but a participatory experience.

Hello YMCA Members and Participants!

 

We are excited to inform you about this FREE, life changing opportunity!  The Geneva Family YMCA is collaborating with Wayne County Action Program, Inc. to offer a popular nationwide comprehensive yearlong Diabetes Prevention Program beginning May 10th. The program will be offered on Tuesday mornings from 9:00 am – 10:00 am.

 

JOIN US FOR A FREE INFORMATIONAL SESSION THE PROGRAM"S FIRST TUESDAY MAY 10TH AT 9:00 AM

 

The Diabetes Prevention Program is designed for adults who are at risk or have been diagnosed with prediabetes and features an extensive educational component encouraging healthy eating and physical activity in a supportive, small group setting.

 

The DPP program will be facilitated by a trained Lifestyle Coach provided by Wayne CAP and will meet at the Geneva Family YMCA and is being offered completely free of charge.
